Congratulations to the winners of the Lunch With Margaret Atwood Contest. Ms Atwood and the winners lunched at Hart House on November 29. Thanks to all those Torontonians who participated and signed up for the Our Public Library campaign.
On Saturday, November 26, a group of Toronto Public Library Workers joined other union locals on a bus bound for Essex County. The bus was loaded with box after box of food donations collected from unionized library workers from all across the Toronto Public Library. These donations were collected to help the Essex County Public Library workers make it through the holiday season - they have been out on strike since June 25 with no end in sight. Essex County officials appear to be willing to deprive their communities of their public libraries as they continue to demand concessions from this tiny, but steadfast group of 58 workers. Check out Daniel Rotzstain's work - a great supporter of our public library.
