At the December 11 Toronto Public Library Board meeting, the revised room rental policy was passed - a positive move in keeping hate groups out of the public library.

Local 4948 President Maureen O'Reilly began this conversation with a deputation at the September 25 TPL Board meeting, urging them to review their room rental policies after a controversial booking at Richview Library.

At the December 11 meeting, Bernie Farber (former CEO of the Canadian Jewish Congress), Madi Murariu (Associate Director of of CIJA, the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs), and John Cartwright (President of the Toronto and York Region Labour Council) supported the proposed revisions and criticized TPL's past decision to allow the room rental at Richview to proceed.

Paul Fromm, Canadian white supremacist and anti-Semite, also attended the December 11 Board meeting and spoke against the revised room rental policy.
